In today’s competitive job market employers are only looking for the best candidates. They generally are no longer prepared to risk employing someone on the back of a couple of interviews. Increasingly, the trend is towards using various occupational tests to support the interview process in predicting future performance of potential employees.

As someone looking to make a career move its important for you to be aware of these tests and to feel comfortable about possibly having to sit them. There are various types including verbal and numeric reasoning, scenario tests, and occupational personality questionnaires.

There is an abundance of research which shows that people who are familiar with the format and questions used in verbal and numeric reasoning tests are more able to fulfil their potential than those who have no previous knowledge of them.
